Looking to buy a rx8 231

Hello just after some help I am looking to buy a Mazda rx8 i currently own a Mazda 5 and a mx3 1.8 v6. I am wondering what the pros and cons are of owning an rx8. I have heard about the hot start problem is this a problem that can be sorted out without rebuilding the engine

There is a thread called "new and potential owners". It has all the info you need.

See the links in my signature.

Hot start issues can be masked with a stronger starter, and there are a few band-aid fixes to try like the ATF in spark plug hole trick, but if you need to do these, you are only delaying the inevitable.

Hot start issues are an indicator that a rebuild is going to be necessary soon. Only way to really know is with a compression test which is what you should get before you pay ANY money for one of these cars. Ideally, try to find one with a good engine then it should last a very long time. Try to stay away from the automatics as they tend to have transmission issues before they have engine issues.
