Hiya newbie here and need some advice

Ive just brought after wanting one for years a 2004 plate rx8
but....
its got the dreaded hot start problems
im going to try the upgraded starter motor but does it mean i have low compression and true that it will need a engine rebuild?
it struggles to start when hot but after a couple of turns it will start!
no problem in performance it drives lovely apart from that problem i cant fault anythin at all with it x

Yes, more trouble starting when hot than cold is pretty exclusive to low engine compression.
A faster starter will mask it, but not fix it. Replace or rebuild is the only real option.

The rate of compression loss will accelerate the more you drive, you will start misfiring more and more, if you have a cat it will start killing it quite quick.
Otherwise, no, not really. The rotary can keep going long after it's officially dead.
