Hello, new guy here.
I have a 04 rx8 that is stock from what I can tell motor wise. Ran terrible when I got it and had some knocking. Ripped the engine down to find the rotor bearing riding halfway off its journal toward the center which ruined my eshaft and rotor itself. Housings look to be in good reusable shape yet. I’m concerned about the irons though. Every one of them has heat marks on them and at least 2 have cracks in them. They aren’t super rough when you run your fingernail on them but I’m just curious if they could be refinished and reinstalled on a fresh rebuild motor or is replacing the only option? I plan to street port them and possibly half bridge. Wondering if anyone else has seen this issue and what the did to fix. Thanks
