introduction to myself and my problem :) broken hose

Hi guys, im steve im from australia and i own a ralliart lancer . My fiance owns a rx8 and ive gotten so use to doing general maintenance for it that i keep exploring new ways to diy on this car. Personally i love rotaries just hate the pia designs to perform maintenance lol.

Anyways ive managed to snap a vacuum hose that connects onto the flexi intake piping before the throttle body. Ill add a photo but any way i can fix it? It snapped at the hose meeting the pipe

Thanks moderator didnt know if bb code worked on mobile. Anyways can someone explain how important that hose is anyways, i noticed putting my thumb on it changed the engine noise a bit . I had a stack of oil and gunk throughout the intake and throttlr body as well. Air filter was putrid so i assume it would be the reason the car ran poorly.

Does the bit stuck in the intake take much to persuade to get out?

Just grab it with a pair of pliers...might want to take the rubber intake tube out first though just so you don't get bits inside

Conversion successful. Turns out its already happened before on another hose next to it so when i pulled off the first hose it slid off and I naturally got frustrated with the second hose and broke it .

I had a choice of slightly larger or slightly smaller and unfortunately their were no brass fittings but the plastic one was just as strong as the stock one. I ended up getting a very small drill piece and shattering the one stuck on the intake because it just wouldn't budge but it didn't go into the rubber so all good

Thanks once again guys its all purring can't wait to do the coilpacks next week and see if it can be ready for a 1/4 mile run :D.

Cheers
