Hi...I'm a new member and I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I need some help please.
Got into my car this morning to go to work. Turned the ignition on and absolutely nothing - no lights on the dash, no response to my turning the key. The zapper on my key wouldn't open or lock the car door - I did this manually. Didn't have time to look at as I decided to catch the bus to work so I wasn't late. Car had been idle over the weekend and hadn't been used since Friday evening after driving it home after it passed its MOT.
Any suggestions - is it a flat battery - will jump leads fix it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

Sounds like a completely dead battery.

ok , i'll try that when I get home. Thanks for your help - but being a new RX8 owner didn't know whether there were any bizarre reasons specifically linked to an RX8 and not starting. Thank You.

 

Well, yes, there are other reasons for failure-to-start, and one of them is unique to rotaries, but zero electrical power in the entire car is pretty much the same across all cars: dead battery.

It IS still just a car under that skin, still governed by all the same basics
