Ignition coil bracket removal - wiring harness

Watched YouTube. Replacing ignition coils, wiring and plugs is easy...

Unless you car has been living with salted roads for 10 years.

Three out of four ignition coil posts snapped level with the top of the ignition coils, so I decided to replace the bracket. Two questions (well maybe three)...

1) How do I remove the back clip on the wiring harness? It's a sort of zip-tie thing.

2) My car suffers from rusted bolts. I am afraid that the heads will just spin off when I try to remove the bolts holding the bracket on. Other solutions that spring to mind.

Modify a new bracket and attach it to the existing bracket (nuts and bolts? epoxy?) after cutting off the ignition coil posts.

Fabricate a bar from (say) phenolic that rides across the top of the ignition coils and bolt that somewhere/how

Epoxy the new coils to the posts - this car will not live another 30k miles. Even if a coil goes I could lever them off the posts.

I await the collected wisdom

Replace the bracket. Spray the nuts/bolts with penetrant and let it sit. Then spray it again and let it sit. The wiring harness zip tie thingamajiggy has a clip that can be removed by squeezing the clip from the bottom with needle nose pliers.

Thank you 9K. I WD-120'ed my car yesterday and with a little trepidation unscrewed the bolts. No problems.

For anyone else who reads this thread after googling...

Take care removing the vacuum elbows. They get brittle with age and break easily. I know . I found it easier and safer to lever the elbows out of the air pipe using two flat-blade screwdrivers using the little arms on the elbow. This is the beastie I mean...

It is also easier to remove that back zip whatsit after removing the three bolts holding the bracket and then rotating it.

If you disagree please step in as I am inexperienced in this stuff.

Yeah they nipples are best removed when the engine is warm. Same for anything plastic in the engine bay actually. 10+ year old plastic tends to be brittle.
