Welcome
In the interest of making the car last a looonnngg time, start studyiing the following link:

https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...t-here-202454/

When I say study, that's not a euphemism for browse. The information contained in that thread is about the most valuable and informative data you will ever find when it comes to buying and maintaining your new baby so pretending you are back in school and cramming for a final would be the correct approach. You may, however, take a five minute break from reading if your eyes start to bleed.

Hot start issue can often be a sign of low compression. When you say your dealer is fixing it, what do you mean? Are you getting a reman or rebuilt engine? If so, you must have gotten a used car warranty that extended your original Mazda engine warranty beyond the 8 yr/100,000 mile limit, being a 2005. Thank your stars on that, it saved you thousands of dollars. Welcome.
