hey all new from Col. Ohio

hey guys names Panda(joke name that stuck...) anyhow i'm new here been doing some reading up on the RX8 and bought mine friday, 2005 MT sport edition with 87k on it unfortunately the engine blew a few days ago and the dealer is fixing it(unsure as to why but it would never start hot had to let it cool for a few before it would or i could jump it and that worked once XD) anyhow excited to get my 8 running and make it last a good while.

In the interest of making the car last a looonnngg time, start studyiing the following link:

When I say study, that's not a euphemism for browse. The information contained in that thread is about the most valuable and informative data you will ever find when it comes to buying and maintaining your new baby so pretending you are back in school and cramming for a final would be the correct approach. You may, however, take a five minute break from reading if your eyes start to bleed.

Hot start issue can often be a sign of low compression. When you say your dealer is fixing it, what do you mean? Are you getting a reman or rebuilt engine? If so, you must have gotten a used car warranty that extended your original Mazda engine warranty beyond the 8 yr/100,000 mile limit, being a 2005. Thank your stars on that, it saved you thousands of dollars. Welcome.

they took an engine out of another RX8 with the trans and radiator and dropped it in mine but here lately they've been screwing me around wiht when i'll get it back. was supposed to get it at 2pm today now its moved to monday. yeah i'm not paying a dime for it but the dealer is doing the work which is sketchy at best. the engine blew not sure how but they tried to blame me lol
