Help on deciding a new rotor/motor
Help on deciding a new rotor/motor
So I bought this blown rotor rx8 and decided to get a new motor. So I came across pettit racing renesis engines
And the renesis lll option seems pretty juicy since if it's true then I'll definitely get one but does anyone have any experience the the motor? Cause it would be a real shame if I went and turbo it (maybe 6 months after it's dropped in if I do) and it blew up because the psi was to high.
P.S. I did try to look for anyone that did on this forum so sorry if there's one and I didn't work hard enough

Their Renesis III option uses lower compression rotors so there is no 'maybe I'll boost it later' option. If you don't boost it, it will perform worse than a regular Renny, and it will need one retune when you installed it and another retune when you boost it. So just do the whole thing at once. Pettit does good work, I wouldn't hesitate to grab one of their engines. Just figure out what your ultimate goal is and work with them to get you there.
There is no inexpensive solution for safely boosting a Renesis. I would budget $7,000 to do it right. In addition to the boost aspects, you have to provide adequate cooling capacity and all the rest. No shortcuts.
