Hello and Thankyou
Just wanted to say hello and thank you.
I'm about 2 weeks or so from dropping some cash on my first RX8. I have found the advice and stickies on here invaluable.
I've read through as much as I can and will be buying a 2004, 231, model soon.
I have found someone to do a compression test and have started looking for good cars, hoping i find a good black one.
I'm familiar with regular maintenance and oil checking of cars because I used to have a mitsubishi GTO twin turbo (stealth in the USA I think). That thing was very particular about oil type, level and frequent changes.
I have set a budget for new coils, plugs and plug wires. I've read and re-read the premix threads and also the uk owner's club forum and I've decided I will premix.
To keep heat down and to make sure I get through MOT emission tests I think i will run a cat delete pipe and just put the cat on for the tests.
Before i sold my GTO I took off a water injection kit I had. In the kit it has a vacuum detector so it can be used on n/a cars. So i'm going to read up and see if it will have any benefits for the RX8.
Anyway good work with the stickies and all the great threads. I will post pics and stuff when I choose my car.

Welcome, we hope that you will enjoy the rx8 that you get. I'm sure that everyone here will do their best to guide you through your purchase should you need it as long as you provide all the pertinent info.

Thanks guys.
Yes I always pre-plan and I love finding good forums. I did the same when I bought my kawasaki ninja zx10r. Too many people rush instead of taking time to research.
Between this forum and the UK owner's club forum I have found out pretty much everything I need to be well armed in my search. In fact I have seen a nice looking black one that I will be casting a critical eye over.
