Hey guys, glad I found this site. I have been looking to get a fun car for a while now. Came across what I think is a fairly good deal. Give me your opinions please.

2004 Mazda RX-8
All black
Tires have maybe 1/2 tread remaining
140,000 miles
6 speed manual
Has small amount of rust on rear drivers fender
Other than rust, I would say it is in fair condition. Drives & stops straight, everything seems to work.

They want $4000 for it. I see they are known for many certain problems. Anything I should specifically check out before buying?

Compression test at the dealer (rotary specific one). That'll tell you what shape the engine is in.
The other things are ignition coils and catalytic converter, the coils should have much fewer than 30,000 mi.
