So I guess this is my first post despite having an account here for a while. I've read many threads here and I'm excited to get to know some of you on here.
My name is Ben, I am from Central Florida. I'm 21 and I've been an Rx8 owner for nearly 2 years now. When I'm not driving, I'm usually working as a computer tech or playing music. (my other car is a VW Passat.. my first). lol.
So far my experience with the 8 has been great. Within 2 months of owning the car, I had amassed 2 speeding tickets and one citation. I learned my lesson. (None since then). I haven't "modded" my car really. I've read the "vast" list of modifications for this line... Rather, I have installed a new Mishimoto rad and Exedy Clutch, aside from tires and brakes. I currently daily this car, but the long run hopes are to join a couple race clubs and try my hand at autocross. (Sebring International Raceway driving school advanced class actually drive Rx8's; intermediate drive Mx5)
I do personal photography for local race and auto events, and conventions, so I like taking a lot of photos, but here is my '05 8..
Rotaryduff, yeah.. it might need a little more than tlc.
04green, that is tempting. really.. good price too. but with the way my schedule is set up, making time out for a weekend trip like that is a bit unlikely. I will hold on to that offer and continue to check the links for further dates however. thank you.
That group and track is one I would recommend highly for starting out. There are others, including a few I want to try to attend, but Roebling is where I let my kids start. Dark Side goes in May and November.
I think I'll go ahead and create an account there to get the notifications. Depending on when in November, I could probably make time to go. November is also host to Motor Trend Auto Shows in Tampa and Orlando as well as Hot Import Nights.
@ Reg. Check out the videos in the event post.. Which looks like more fun. Passing Porsches, or looking at cars.. BTW, I have seen Lambos, R8s, Porsche GTs, Ford GTs and things I do not recognize at the track. But, the best part, is passing a Corvette and telling the guy you have a 1.3L engine.

I have passed all of these cars... on the highway. Lol but yeah. I see your point. Thanks.
