Is this a good candidate for the next project? Or is yellow cop bait?

WV Is this a good candidate for the next project? Or is yellow cop bait?

So I've read a good bit on the salvage/rebuild options, but I haven't noticed much recent activity, and that could be an important consideration given low values on 2004's and the limited amount of damage that could lead to a car being totaled.

The background. Have an 04 red that someone rattle painted flat black. Bought it as a project that included a low compression extra engine. Replaced the shocks/springs, starter motor, plugs and coils, ame cold air intake, new tires. Have new rotors and brakes and braided lines ready to go on. Grinds going into third. The front and rear bumper covers are shot. I enjoy driving it, but am stalled on replacing the tranny and diff fluids because, well it's 80% done and no longer has the shiny newness I crave. And yes, I know that my meds aren't really working well.

So, behold. A yellow one that I could put all the good stuff on, and maybe part out the other one.

So... Any indications that the damage is more extensive than bodywork to this rear panel? What would the part out value of the car likely be just in case I never get around to fixing it?
And do those of you with yellow cars think you get more attention from the law? I once had a bad experience in the fourth grade where I got caught hiding from a teacher because I was wearing, you guessed, yellow, so I am a little hesitant about the car. Which, again, tells you all you need to know, cause it's the color, not the condition that makes me pause.

Thanks

Amazing how badly damaged it is from the rear, yet there appears to be minimal indications through the paint that it was hit by another object. That's some good paint. Lol might be frame damage bro. Take it to a body shop and have it checked by a specialist. I wouldn't worry so much about the color I have a red car and a the loudest exhaust you can purchase for this car. And I live by a police station and my girlfriend lives by a police station and I pass by both every time I see her. Just don't drive like an idiot or be under the influence or have anything in your car and you'll be just another yellow car.

Rear quarters are very expensive to repair.

can you elaborate? what makes it spendy to fix? If this is the project for me, i might well spend some time hammering it back into some shape myself. and one bad corner would be a pretty big step up from the current ride

You can probably use the body parts from that one ^ to replace the yellows damaged parts but there could be frame damage and that might need to be fixed and then you will probably need another paint job.

If you can't hammer it out, you have to cut it out and weld in a new one.

Quick update for a chuckle
They have 5900 on it, what a joke. It's probably not worth pointing out to them. There's always the chance of an eBay sucker
