Freon tastes awful!

The A/C condenser is bolted to the main radiator and I decided to remove it completely to avoid a possible source of damage to the fins when I put the new radiator in.

Lessons this learned today:

1. Wearing goggles is not an alternative to spending the extra minute to located a valve.
2. If you really are that lazy, do not have the habit of sticking out your tongue when concentrating on a job.

Additions to the ToDoList:

1. Color code all hoses, wires and connectors.
2. Color code and number all bolts, nuts and holes.

Uhm. You may want to call a poison help line of some kind. That stuff is seriously not good for you.

How well a patient does depends on the severity of the poisoning and how quickly medical help was received.

Severe lung damage may occur. Survival past 72 hours usually means the patient will have a complete recovery.

Sniffing freon is extremely dangerous and can lead to long-term brain damage and sudden death.

Smile Thank all y'all for your concern!

I also got a small scratch on my forehead when I removed the rock guard.

Do you think we should amputate immediately or can we risk it and put me on triple max doses of Vicodin and I can do a liquor-run before you have me airlifted to Johns Hopkins?

With the old R12, poisoning wasn't an issue. It may be the lubricants and dies that they add to the R134 that's the issue.

R-12 itself wasn't poisonous, but if you pass it through a flame it can decompose into toxic components. That always gave me food for thought when I'd use a flame-type leak detector.
