CEL was on for about 500 miles now it is gone
My CEL came on about 500 miles ago took it to advanced auto, autozone, and oreillys they all said it was code P0402. I got in my car to go to work yesterday and it was gone. Should I still get it checked out?

I HATE SPEEDBUMPS!
Are you sure its P0402 and not P0442? That code is the EVAP system leak detected (small leak). If its me, i'll wait until it goes back on again. You could still drive it, but when you do a smog test, its not going to pass, and you need to fix the issue.

Yeah I remember it being P0402. I was trying to save up some money so I can buy the converter and I was going to buy it today since I got paid and had the money but the light hasn't come back on. I just wasn't sure if I should just buy the converter and get it over with.

Since a converter costs something like $1300 it might be worth getting a professional diagnosis.
Best not to wait too long, since if it is a bad converter that can cause damage.

That's what I'm worried about. If it is the converter and I just dismiss it just because the light is off and it mess up my motor. I'm just gonna buy the converter just to get it over with
