Exporting from Singapore to US

I'm thinking of buying an RX-8 in Singapore after I get my license, but I'm also moving to the US in a few years' time. Judging from the fact that the JDM RX-8 (the ones here in Singapore) are similar to the ones in the US aside from the driver's side being on the right, is it possible to bring the car along with me? It doesn't have to be efficient in terms of cost, I just want to know whether it can be done.

You can't buy sentimental value, which is the primary motivation I'd have if I have a RX-8 here. Otherwise I'd buy a USDM RX-8 when I get there.

Though, to add on, I'd probably buy a USDM in the US anyway, for practical reasons. I don't mind having two cars.

Sentimental value of a car you haven't bought yet?
Importation is doable with money, but there is a whole bunch of regulation around right-hand drive cars. You may not be able to drive it in the US at all until its 25 years old.

Come to Canada instead, it's only 14 years here

Good point. Maybe I'll consider Canada, thanks for the suggestion.
