Got an engine question. I had the RX8 out yesterday and ran it pretty hard for about 15 minutes (hard accelerating, high RPM's). I came to a stop at a stop sign and as I rolled to a stop with the clutch in the engine sputtered a little and died. Never had this happen previously.

I waited a couple minutes and got it started again. I ran the motor up to 7000 RPM and let it come back down. The RPM's dropped slowly and stuttered on the way down. I drove it another 10 minutes and it was running fine again. The motor is stock with an aftermarket exhaust. Any ideas?

 

Guessing possible fuel pump issue.
What was your gas level?
Tired pump running hard on low fuel may run a little hot.

 

It could be many things. Guessing won't help, you need to trouble shoot the issue.

I'll do some trouble shooting, thank you for the fuel pump lead. It had a nearly full tank so I may be able to rule that out early. I'll keep digging. Any other leads are appreciated.
