Engine Died Spontaneously After Running Hard
Got an engine question. I had the RX8 out yesterday and ran it pretty hard for about 15 minutes (hard accelerating, high RPM's). I came to a stop at a stop sign and as I rolled to a stop with the clutch in the engine sputtered a little and died. Never had this happen previously.
I waited a couple minutes and got it started again. I ran the motor up to 7000 RPM and let it come back down. The RPM's dropped slowly and stuttered on the way down. I drove it another 10 minutes and it was running fine again. The motor is stock with an aftermarket exhaust. Any ideas? |
Guessing possible fuel pump issue.
What was your gas level? Tired pump running hard on low fuel may run a little hot. |
It could be many things. Guessing won't help, you need to trouble shoot the issue.

I'll do some trouble shooting, thank you for the fuel pump lead. It had a nearly full tank so I may be able to rule that out early. I'll keep digging. Any other leads are appreciated.
