Discovered one of my rear end links was broken so I'm replacing with Evo R adjustable. Doesn't look like they come with nuts so I'm thinking of purchasing some 316 flange nuts from mcmaster. I know they're weaker than the stock grade 8 but don't think it will be a problem in this application.

I had to grind the endlinks off so I can't measure the thread pitch. Anyone know this?

 

Find out what pitch the new end links have.
The supplier should know.

I had tried to reach out but my emails got kicked back. I figured that nuts may come with them, but I'm going to replace with stainless steel nuts where possible, or at minimum zinc coated. My entire underbody will eventually get replaced/coated so when I have the opportunity to replace parts I like to upgrade.

If no one knows what size I guess I will have to measure when they come in, and will update this thread for future users.

 

The Evo-R endings aren't necessarily the same size/thread pitch as stock. Waiting to check would be a good idea....

 

I thought they came with nuts back when I bought a set. That was maybe 12 or 13 years ago though. Still have the rear ones. One of the fronts broke and I use the PowerLink brand there now instead. They don’t make a short rear set though.

Pretty sure the OE size is M10x1.25. If its not a flanged nut then you’ll need a washer too. I would highly recommend using anti-seize on the stud threads.

Are stainless steel nuts weldable?

I"m looking to weld a stainless steel nut to a stainless steel rod. I'm also not sure what kind of capacity I would get for the weld or even if a stainless steel nut is weldable. Would it still be the same as steel?

 

Stainless welds same as steel. TIG works best with good shielding gas....
