I know that when the engine is hot and you shut it off the radiator fans keep working. In my case they work when i shut the engine off but leave the key on the on position, but if i remove the key they shut off. If i put the key back in the on position they start spinning again. Im sure my fans should keep spinning after i take the key out and lock the car especially when the engine is as hot as it is +100 C......at least. I have an obd 2 bluethooth adapter that tells me what the sensors measure. I just bought the car, maybe the previous owner did something to stop the after cooling function to save battery life ???? Idk. Id rather waste the battery than heat soak my engine. Any tips on what to start checking ?

 

Are both fans working? They don't always stay on, for me it's on very hot days and I think it jas more todo with cooling down the AC condenser. But definitely check that both fans work

 

I have the same experience with my fans. I was always assuming they were eventually tied in with the ignition relay.

 

From memory I think there are 3 different fan settings based on temperature ranges. My car will continue to run the fans after the key is off if coolant temperature is in the highest range. Rather disconcerting since the mid range also has high fan speed like the highest range. Mid range temperature the fans quit with the key off. Summer just arrived here so reality will let me confirm soon.
