WI Coolant warning light on RX8's for sale?

Hey all! Ive been scouring the net trying to find a RX8 within my price range. (5-6k)
I've been seeing a few 8's with the coolant light on, (the one on the temperature gauge, the one that looks like a carousel). I've been reading and digging through the threads, but does this mean the motor is either low on coolant or pass and don't look back?

I'm wanting to buy but trying to find the right 8! I got the fever, RX is the cure!

Often the coolant level sensor screws up....so it may just be that.

Best advice is get a compression test before you buy any rotary. ..or budget for a rebuild 😎

My idiot lights are almost always on

So my coolant, oil, and engine lights started going nuts when I drove through the mountains in the north west US. Turned out my engine had gone. So I had it replaced at a dealership (was still under warranty) and took it back four times because lights never stopped going on and off randomly. Several sensors were replaced. Never got fixed.

The one that looks like a carosel. You mean the "Add coolant now?" Light? There's a Technical Service Bulletin out for the coolant overflow bottles. The sensor on the bottom goes bad @ roughly 80k, or heats up and becomes useless. You'll want to replace it if that's the case. We had that happen on our 1700 mile odessey home from MD to CO. Ended up replacing the radiator too because replacing the bottle cracked the top nipple on the radiator, so we literally went **** it and installed a new aluminum one.

Yup that one. Thanks for the info about that sensor. I'll definitely be looking in to that!
