Clutch problem :(
The other day i was driving home from work and when i pressed my clutch it made a pop sound, the next time i pressed it it made the pop sound again but this time stayed down and did not come back up. I was able to pull it up with my foot but there was no reason because when i ****** it stayed down. As i was driving it became harder and harder to change gears.
When i press my clutch it goes down about 3/4 of the way with no resistance, then it grabs and i have pressure. When my car is on i cannot shift at all, when the car is off it cycles through the gears fine. Since i was parked head first in a spot i tried starting it in reverse to back out, when i lift off the clutch even a little the car lunged backwards.
I have checked the slave and master for leaks and havee none. It doesnt appear the bracket is broken either, and i know the car was previously taken in for the clutch pedal recall. Im hoping its something not too expensive

Possibilities:
- clutch pedal failure (get down there and move it by hand, watch the base flange. shouldn't be any lateral flexing, just the arms should move, not the assembly)
- clutch disc burst (pull the starter and check for debris through the hole in the bellhousing where the starter inserts through)

to OP and lawlorjuice what year are your cars? if still under the 8 year 100K mile warranty then make an appointment with your dealer to have them inspect the clutch pedal assembly. mine did a similar thing a few weeks ago and it was replaced hassle free from my dealer here in sacramento. i was downshifting to second from third, it made a pop sound and i lost pressure in the pedal. it was not grabbing gears and the shift position of the clutch changed drastically. I called mazda themselves first to make sure the warranty was still in effect for my 2005 and that this recall had not yet been done on the car. mazda will cover this completely if you are sill under the 8 year 100k mile warranty.
