Changing Coils

Can a Novice change these out. I am not a mechanic but know my way around and can follow instructions well enough, and am willing to learn it..
What type of time does it take to complete it..

Welcome.
There's a couple of good DIY threads.
It's not too difficult.
I had to take the air filter box off, that was the hardest part.
Just be sure to not cross the wires, very important.
Label them, or do them one at a time.
A couple of hours.

I am a mechanic and it took me about a half hour the only thing I removed was the plastic expansion box on the air intake tube just before the throttle body and then was able to reach everything underneath the air intake tube. I removed the plug wire, then the nut holding the coil one at a time and then disconnected the harness plug then reversed the process. Only doing one coil at a time in order to not mix any of the wires up. A extendable magnet will come in very handy to get the nuts off when they are loose and then started on the studs again without dropping and losing them.

I am NOT a mechanic, but do a lot of my own wrenching. It took me about 45 minutes to do it the first time and 30 minutes thereafter. But, with my BHR setup, I am hoping to just be changing plugs from here on out. As already mentioned, be sure to label your wires or change the coils one at a time. It is also a good idea to change the plugs and wires with the coils if you are using OEM quality components.

Be careful with the wires. It's a tight fit, and I ended up getting stranded at work because one got pinched between the harness and engine lifting bracket and shorted the engine fuse.
I took the bracket off, but the long bolts partly hold the water pump on. Need washers the same thickness as the bracket.

Good warning. I actually installed my BHR setup a little over 10K miles ago, and am quite happy with it so far. I can definitely see how that could happen, though.
