car won't start. No power at all

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help. My rx8 had a flat battery so I went to jump start it from another car. I hooked it up to another cars battery and left it for 5 minutes. The relevant lights came on the dash when I put the key in the ignition. However, when I went to turn over the car all power died pretty much instantly. Now no lights will come on on the dash and the car will not turn over at all.

Does anyone have any ideas of whats wrong? I've checked the main fuse and this seems fine.

Hey Harry....
Just spitballing here but i think your issue is fuse related....

I would double check all fuses in the engine bay and in the cabin (drivers side by your feet)
Especially the main fuse.....

I would also check and clean your battery terminals, these become dirty over time and can cause issues if they aren't seated properly...

Did you try starting it while the other car was still hooked up?

I think your battery could be completely drained. Might need a full charge.
Get your battery tested,
also, checking the fuses won't harm.

you battery might be shorted internally or have broken plates. a bad battery will drain any power from another battery

I got the same issue. Trying to figure it out. I'm sure my batteries are good.

No power at all is likely the main fuse...it is on the front left corner of the fuse box...on the side. It is 120 Amp large fuse

If you have power to some areas..and no power to the starter...check out other fuses
