Buzz was sound

I'm trying to help a gentleman I just met with his rx8. When he first starts his car, it sounds like a mini buzz saw is running. After a few minutes, it stops and the engine sounds normal. Any ideas?

Secondary air pump bearing. You can replace the air pump, or if you're adventurous try to replace the bearing only.

Or if you have a cat delete you can just delete the air pump. You'll have to buy a kit to do it tho

the kit is literally just a small plate with two holes in it and a copper (iirc) gasket. you could make your own. getting the nuts off the exhaust mani is a bitch
