Broken exhaust shroud things

When I purchased my 8, I noticed the plastic inserts around the exhaust were broken. most of the clips that secure them to the bumper were broken. I'm unsure how to reattach these to the bumper without it looking terrible. So far the best idea I've had is gorilla glue, but I'm really looking for a more mechanical solution that won't end up failing after many heat cycles. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Just get new ones, they are like $50.00 each.

$100 is a lot to spend for a couple pieces of plastic

Well, you did ask.
$100 is a drop in the bucket compared to what you're going to spend to keep it maintained properly.

You are in for a long and frustrating ownership experience if you think $100.00 is a lot for two exhaust shrouds.

I'm aware the rx-8 is expensive to maintain, and I'm more than willing to spend the money on maintenance. However, this is two pieces of plastic. Fully cosmetic. Some of the places where the exhaust shrouds clip in to the bumper cover are broken too. Broken clips on bumper cover and broken clips on shrouds. Neither of you really answered my question. I've located and debated purchasing new ones. I decided that even if I purchased new ones I'd have to find a way to secure them, too. I posted here to see if anyone had any suggestions or had handled something like this before.

You didn't say the mounting points on the bumper were broken also.
Imo glue won't work.
If you can't afford to replace the shrouds or bumper, you might try a fiberglass repair kit with the reinforced cloth & epoxy to somehow fix the bumper or shrouds well enough to either clip or screw the shrouds back on.

I hadn't even thought about those fiberglass repair kits! That sounds like a pretty viable option. Thanks!
