Apex seal advice
Apex seal advice
I recently purchased a 2004 gt manual, 13b. I'm pulling the engine to put in a lightweight flywheel, replace/upgrade the apex seals, and see what else needs to be done if anything. Are there any seals you would recommend? I would get the compression tested but my area isn't friendly to rotaries
Also,
Someone in your area has a compression tester.
I do a lot in NE PA actually. Im sure someone close to you has a tester and would be willing to do the test for a fee likely.

Lol
I understand that's a rebuild, thought it would just be smart because it's at 58k miles and a previous owner didn't take great care of it. Also wanted to inspect the housings
If it starts well don't worry about it. If it begins to hard start when it''s hot then you can think about pulling it apart
When you do refresh the engine....use Mazda stock apex seals unless you are FI. They work much better than aftermarket ones in a stock NA motor
Test the compression.....or even just drive it 😎
