Any help would be great! Power steering

I just bought a 2004 rx8 and the steering is completely locked up I have check all the wires but there is no power coming out of the power steering module. Even after jacking the car up while it was running I can’t get the tires to budge either direction. Anyone ever have this problem? Or possibly know how to fix it?!

Even if the power steering doesnt work you should still be able to move the wheel back and forth... especially jacked up. Sounds like your rack is seized up

You could try to have 2 people pull\push in the direction you're turning and you crank the wheel as hard as you can but most likely even if you do get it free it may not work right it just depends on how bad it really is

Make sure something else isn't seized up... but your best option is likely buying a used rack out of a wreck. Just make sure it isn't from one the front end got hit

Are you sure it isnt the steering lock??

depending on how much $$ you got you may want to get a used one which i would recommend you use this website Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and have them ship it to you or you could go new one https://www.buyautoparts.com/buynow/2005/Mazda/RX-8/Electric_Power_Steering_Rack/80-30018_DE?src=pla&pt_source=googleads&pt_medium=cpc &pt_campaign=(ROI)+Shopping+-+All+MAPs+-+Year+Specific&pt_adgroup=

The steering wheel isn’t locked as I can feel when it unlocks when I turn the key.

The steering wheel isn’t locked as I can feel when it unlocks when I turn the key. Another question I have is my battery light is on and the battery has 12.2 volts when not running and 13.6 when running. And is there supposed to be power coming out of the power steering module. I have power going into it but I don’t any power coming out? Thanks for any input.

Not sure what you mean coming out?.... there is a 2 wire connector for power....and the CAN connector for the connection to the steering control unit.

There is a power and ground going in with power but the red and black/yellow wires don’t have power that come out of the ps module going to the power steering
