Another new guy post
Evening everyone! Finally making myself known here on the board after hanging out for a couple of weeks. Recently acquired a 2004. Unsure of the condition of everything as it was a project for someone else. Under the hood, the intake and battery box have been removed. There is some rust in the rear, I think I’m gonna have to get some welding done on the underside. Engine and transmission are there. Seems like all the other parts are there, just gotta figure out what got cut when the boxes were removed. Car came with a crapload of extra parts. If a body part was removable, I have it, including doors. Almost a complete interior as well. A complete spare engine with ECU and a transmission in about a million pieces. Also have a front subframe and steering box.
Its full on winter here, so I’ll be in the basement, rebuilding the loose engine, hopefully it is in good enough condition to rebuild without having to buy new rotors or irons. If anyone knows a good rotary machine shop south of Boston or in NE, I would appreciate it. I’m figuring on about 2-3 years before I expect to be passing inspection, going to replace everything in the suspension and probably go with a plethora of Megan Racing and Mazdaspeed parts. Not interested in coilovers but adjustable shocks and good coil springs will give me the handling I want.
This is my first rotary but not my first rodeo, so, should be fun!
