Alignment issues on a 2004 RX8 bellhousing to block
Anyone have any reasons why my bell housing to block alignment cant get any closer than an 1/8 or 3/16 inch without making the crank to where I cant turn it by hand ? I would turn the crank or wiggle back and forth while I aligned up the splines on the tourqe convertor but when tightening everything up the crank will not turn at all by hand . Any ideas ?

My guess is that your clutch isn't aligned properly. Loosen it off then try to re mate the engine and gearbox, tighten the clutch bolts through the hole for the starter to hold it in place, then split engine and gb in order to torque the clutch bolts down

I gather it is an automatic, when you install the torque converter,it has to be fitted to the transmission first, the once you have the tranny bolted to the engine, you then bolt the converter to the flex plate via the starter motor orifice. When the the converter slides into the transmission, the snout on the converter has 2 notches on it that have to mate/line up with opposing pins inside the transmission.
