i have a 2005 automatic

4 port or 6 port? And can you tell from looking at it?
the vin?

If you're to lazy to read, you have a 4 port auto. how to tell is in the thread I posted above.

 

To make it even easier, all automatic transmission S1's came with a 4 port engine. For a direct replacement engine, you will need a 4 port engine or rebuild your current engine.

 

nope all 04-05s did, 06+ autos got the 6 port

 

Also got 6 speed automatic transmission in 06 and 4 speed in the 04-05.

 

Found a lot of JDM swaps out there. They come with the engine and Tranny. Assuming as long as the engine is a 4 port that it should work? Are all the trannys 4 speed?

the 04-05 autos had 4 port motors and 4 spd trans. 06+ autos have 6 port motors and 6spd trans (in the us) other countries had a 4 port engine option with a 5spd manual as well as the 4spd auto trans

 

You're absolutely correct. I stand corrected. Thank you for the correction. I totally forgot about the switchover.

 

Just bought a 6 port auto engine from JDM - I know its a crap shoot, wish me luck. Also they wanted $200 extra for the tranny. Shipping was gonna be around $300 so I'm gonna drive up from DC and pick it up, then spend the night in manhattan and paint the town red........
