2 stroke oil

I've just had an engine rebuild after only 57000 miles. The mechanic suggested adding 150mls 2 stroke oil to the petrol tank to extend the engine life. Is this a good idea?

It's certainly not a bad idea. Search "premix" on this site for loads of information.

Thanks. I was looking under 2 stroke and oil but got nowhere.
