OK I have a huge issue with my 2009 Mazda RX8I just had the slave cylinder replaced And the mechanic nicked the wiring harness for the EGI comp one Circuit now it is smoking like crazy and using oil any recommendations. The short to ground has been fixed no cels now but continues to smoke like crazy. posted on another thread about smoking. "04 white smoke"Everything drove fine after the replaced cylinder until the wire shorted out then the light flashed like crazy and the cel came on lost some compression and started smoking like 9000. All of that went away after we found the short and fixed it. It continues to smoke but idles and revs fine.

 

Did they pinch the harness with the WB02 sensor?

Check to see what your lamba readings are if you have a scanner. The only scenario that sees a lot of smoke is if it's thinking it is lean and it adding lots of fuel.

Otherwise can't see a failure that would make it smoke.

 

Have you had a compression done on it to see if it's healthy? I know it's hard to get a real rotary compression test done but if you have to you can use a normal one but you have to watch the gauge as you crank and look for the 3 different spikes since it has 3 faces. I had my front/rear rotor fail and throw a seal but it would still crank up and run like normal accept for the weird sound and it would only smoke at high rpm. Maybe take a video so we could get a better understanding of what is taking place
