as I was driving on the freeway going about 65 my 2004 rx8 died down and had it towed home. car won' start ive replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs, wires, coils and battery. it was starting up but was struggling to stay on and would accelerate on its own then die down.. so now it won' turn on unless i use a little quick start open it up and it wants to turn but wont!! Any advice before i take it to Mazda??

 

Stop throwing parts at it first off. It sounds like your engine may have crapped the bed if you have indeed changed all of those parts.

I would check the following:

-Verified you are getting spark output from the coils

-You have good fuel pressure

-Check to see if you have an injector pulse with a NOID light/tester

-Make sure your Cat isn't clogged


If you have the ability to check these, do so before taking to mazda. Next step would be the ol' dreaded compression test.
