Who in MA has had the "L" Flash done?

I hate to do this...as I don't really have anything but great things to say about my RX8. It has been performing flawlessly, but I am intrigued by all this reflash talk. I do plan on eventually getting the Canzoomer mod and it seems to work even better with the later reflash. My question is, has anybody in MA done it, what dealer was it done at, and how did you get the dealer to do it? I will be bringing my car in for the recall on the airbag and heat shield thing. I don't want to show up to the dealer with the , "I paid X amount of dollars, I demand this and this", attitude. That's not me. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

nobody? I had to schedule my appointment for the recalls, and I just asked about an ECU reflash...not surprisingly, the guy had no idea what I was talking about....No big deal. I didn't expect him to.

So nobody had any luck?

I am sitting back for a couple weeks to see if its even something I want done.

Initially I wanted to go out and get it right away. Now after some people are saying its not too much different....that includes MPG. Others are saying its great.
Fact is, my car runs great. Never any CEL's. Never flooded. Do I want to mess with a good thing. Logic would say not.

If it is a fact that people are seeing real world improved gas milage. Then I'm there.
Performance is another issue as well. Yes they did lean out the fule maps withing a specific RPM range, but also retarded the timing to protect against detonation. So is there a real world performance increase? Maybe. I'm letting a few more people get it and post comments before I go begging for a reflash.

I just got mine done at 128 Mazda as part of the deal for buying the car. Yes, I just got my very own RX8 today after hanging out on this forum for a while... quite happy but feeling a bit weird, especially driving back home on this shitty weather and after putting down a big chunk of money...

My thoughts exactly...my car is running perfect too...no CEL's, never flooded. I just read that with the later "L" flash, Canzoomer's mod makes even more power. I do plan on getting Canzoomer's ecu. A little better mpg would be icing on the cake. Anyways if I don't get it done, I won't complain. My baby's been good to me.

Thanks! Yeah, I live in Billerica and I got a titanium gray. The only RX8 I've seen in Billerica is blue. I haven't seen a silver one yet. Don't worry, it looks like the RX8 population in Billerica has distinct colors

Well I got mine reflashed to the "L" spec today. Did notice the idle was smoother....haven't had it long enough to tell any other difference yet. My friend works at Champion Mazda in Brockton...he hooked me up.
