Trusty Dealers for Service?

Been back in Mass for four years (Westboro) and still can't find a knowlegable and trustworth Service Dept. Anyone know of one?

I am tired of telling them what is wrong and catching them trying to charge extra for various parts and services.

2004 MT Black Stock. 88K miles. Original owner.

haha.. there are none around to be honest.

I had Tasca Mazda in Seaconk charge me close to $300 for service on a failed compression test. Mind you if it fails its covered under warrenty and I get a new engine. Nope it failed, and I still get charged for the service. Thankfully the Service Manager was a nice guy and I got my money back.

Mazda Gallery in Norwood is a cluster **** of morons, although if you print up a TSB to show them what the hell your talking about it will shut them up. Ask for Drew and tell 'em Kevin who owned a Black Rx-8 sent you.. he'll love you! lol... friggin' ****** ova there.

If you have 88k miles your best bet is to take it to a reputable tuner shop that has experince with Rotary's. Synaptic 3 in NH are a bunch of AWSOME guys. their labor rate to me atleast was cheap, and they have alot of experince with rotaries.

Thanks

Been dealing with Sentry Mazda in Westboro. Caught them not completing work ona recall, trying to charge me for a $ 1,500+ steering rack change until I showed them a TSM/recall showing it was a defective wire harness.

Did not go back for two years until the car stopped dead this week and I had it towed to them. Service Rep's first question? "... It"s been a while." Should have told him why. Anyway they said the main motor fuse was gone and they couldn't figure out why.

I ended up telling them what was probably wrong, they said it couldn't be, then they called me back and said I was a great diagnostician and was right. They then quoted me $ 400+ for a Cat O2 sensor. I called their own parts Dept. and got a quote for $ 169. Called them back and called them on it and they were speechless. Unbelievable. Incompetent, dishonest or both. Probably both.

Thanks. I'll head North. I want the engine fully cleared before I hit 100K.

I haven't actually had to have any work done since mine is new but I can tell you Seacoast Mazda up route 95 at least knows a thing or two about the RX-8. They are
A) only a Mazda dealer
B) seem to actually keep RX-8s in stock and work on them
C) the service manager knew about the car and finding I was a new owner told me exactly some of the same info and warning I found on this site

I would not trust any of the megadealers around Boston that service like 12 different car brands to work on this car.
