Roadtrip to DC

I'm going on a road trip this long weekend to Washington DC. This is my second trip this year, but the first time I will be bringing my 8. I was just wondering if there are any major Highways I should avoid around the DC, Baltimore area for this long weekend.

Yeesh, DC area on a 3-day weekend? The worst times are Friday afternoon/evening southbound and Monday evening northbound. Friday's much worse since you get rush-hour traffic in the melee too. If you can avoid rush hour times on the road you'll be better. In between those two high-water marks, you should be okay. The area around the Pentagon/Arlington Cemetary/Ft Myer may be busy with things happening at Arlington, but I haven't checked. (I should, since sometimes I plant flowers/flags in Arlington on Memorial Day for dad/granddad.)
