Hey I live in cranberry twp and I see so many rx8 driving around and I’m hoping some of them will be on this forum. But I wanna have a meet either in cranberry at the houlihan's or maybe if everyone’s cool with it we’ll go to Southside or Shadyside. I wanna see if we can do it on July 11 or 18

 

I'm from Squirrel Hill. Just bought my rx8 about 2 months ago. I would do South Side or Shady Side but I have to drive out to Akron on the 11th and I work the weekend of the 18th.

Are there any other PGH heads in these forums? I do see some 8's around my area too

 

Ya I’m trying to find some people around Pittsburgh because I’m moving back to Oakland for school. But as of now I’m gathering as many people as I can around Pittsburgh and when we have enough we’re ganna have a meet in south side. If you know anyone let them know.

 

Nice, I graduated from Pitt recently. You getting season tickets for tailgating? If not you should, I tend to throw tailgates in the Red lot.

Ya I’m really thinking about it because I didn’t last year and I missed out on a lot. Ya I wish I could graduate already lol but I got a long way to go hopefully after next year I’ll get into pitts dental program.

 

Good luck man. I got a couple friends in pharmacy school who are graduating in April (I believe). It's a lot of work, I'm sure the dental program is just as tough.

Do you have any mods on your car? I was thinking of getting new rotors and painting/powder coating my calipers, but I don't really trust any places around here to do a good job and not charge 100's an hr. In the end I may end up doing it myself

 

I'm up by Punxsy, there are about 5-8 other 8's up here, but none of them are on this forum as usual. My cuz does powder coating, he powder coated my safari bar for bout $50 and did a good job even when there was a lot of bad rust on it.

Ya I have a mazdaspeed exhaust and cold air intake, BHR coils, ACT clutch kit, BeatRush Center Transmission Bracing, Ingalls Engine Torque Dampers, DBA 4000XS Series Rotors and I know exactly what you mean by not trusting anyone I did all my work myself. I painted my Calipers too so if my teachers ever give me a brake lol I’ll be more than happy to help you out.

Syntheticdarkness you guys should come down here for a meet. There is only like 4 of us including Zalito.

 

Will do. In fact, we have to come down tommorrow, but I'll be in the hospital most the day. There is a big big meet you guys should try to make it to on the 25th of this month on kent island, so far I believe there is going to be over 30 8's down there with of course crabs and beer etc.... Since you guys or gals are in Pitts, it will be easier to hang when the meets get to far, or you just don't have the money to go that far.

 

Kent Island is about a 5.5hr drive for me... I don't think I'll be able to make that.

am22, I like where your head is. I'm def a big advocate in doing the work myself. What kind of paint did you use for the calipers? I looked into some G2 high temp caliper paint.
Once I start getting money together I'll know who to call.

The only thing I've done so far is put on some new wheels (Kazera) and summer tires.
I bought the car w/ winter tires and stock wheels.

i m from mckeesport. i dont see many 8s here south of pittsburgh and am def interested in headin to anywhere in the area on the 18th! pls keep me posted during the week.
