I have 2 idea's one is for the hardcore Rotorheads which some would understand and a easier name but will have to be discussed further and approved by the Chief's of Board
WE ARE ROTORFEST!!!!! He doesn't own the name, just because he created and ran it.

We paid the extra money...I think we can consider those dues to take over the event and keep the name. dammit I say.

Both those names sounds pretty good/decent in my opinion. Though RotorStock if picked should be cleared with those that run/created Sevenstock as not to step on any toes or create any bad feelings between coast's. Hell if anything you guys might wanna look into getting a hold of some of the people who run that show for some tips and possibly some numbers of some vendors who you might not thought of yet.

If this gets held at a Road Course for a entire weekend omfg that would be awsome. Where's Pocono I'm drawing a blank atm bah. But personaly I say keep it somewhat small for the first year get all the possible kinks out at a small venue before having it explode . Sides be awhile before I can get my car ready to be ran around a course lol.

Oh and someone said something about Vosko saying he doesnt wish anyone to use the name. Sadly if anyone owns rights to the name it would be Polak since he made shirts with the name and sold said shirts, and I'm sure he did so without a contract from Vasko so yeah.. my knowledge on Copyright law is fuzzy nowadays but from what little I remember if you make something and sell it you have a case to say you own the name.

that gets my vote :p

oh and for clavius, pocono raceway is in northern PA about 90Mi from NYC, and getting there is half the fun, least the way my fam would take when going on vacations up @ lake wallenpaupack, some really fun country roads in that area... and its one place that we're assured it's gonna be a pretty long drive for everyone :p

Ohhh PA.. my gf's family owns property out there. Sweeet means I can con-vince her to go. If they have camping facilities that would be awsome to. I'm sure if we go Pocano or any HUGE venue like this it will be heavily promoted and sponsored so cost should hopefully be respectable.

Has anyone thought of Lime Rock in CT? With the tent corral we had there this year via MazdaSpeed and others I'm sure, I'm positive the Track Owners have good thoughts about Mazda owners. Plus I'm sure we most likelly have a few connections we dont even know about lol

Ah, Pocono Raceway, just a half hour from my house....that would be suhweet.

Don't forget about Bloomsburg Fairgrounds and Nazareth Speedway. (just suggestions)

I would help with event organization as well. I've organized several golf tournaments for the animal shelter.

wow, I just got myself up to speed with everything that happened this year. What a shame. I never would have expected something like that to go down at rotorfest since its generally been such a positive experience. A meet at pocono raceway might just be enough to convince me to come out for another meet

I have the in for Limerock. I used to run/chair the Mazda’s @ Limerock. It was hosted by the Nutmeg Miata Club. If you want to, I can get the information from the Miata club and total cost of the catering, chalet, and ticket cost. I can tell you that these events where sponsored by Mazda North American Operations and venders from that community. I already offered my services to those who are going to host this next year event. So time will tell what and where we will be. So keep on looking for the replacement of rotorfest.

Definitely drop Rotorfest. Vosko can prove prior art, so it might be feasible for him to claim damages and make you stop using it.

maybe RxFest

How about:

RXperience

RX-factor

RX-Fest or X-Fest

RX's Gone Wild! (lol)

Mazdapalooza

Rotormania

RXposed

Rotojam

Rotosport

All the others I can think of have been said already.

As for the "REX" pronounced names...just a FYI, WRX people have been using that name "REX" for a while, so we might wanna think on that.

No apology necessary! That said, I'll never visit Island Dragway again. Vosko (is that his name?) may have made a little extra money on Sunday, but I hope that's nothing compared to what he'll LOSE over the next few years.
