NJ people - License plates?

Is anyone going to put their license plate on the front? I know its a law and all but I really dont want to do it. Has anyone been stopped for not having one on the front?

Stopped, but it took a while

Years ago, after having the front end re-done on my RX-7 TII I just threw the front plate and holder in the back of the car. Rode around for a few years before I was stopped for it. Sucked to have to put it back on, really screwed up the lines on the front of the car!

Anyway, I had a "real" reason for it not being there and did have it with me. The cop could see it was bent up from the accident and didn't ask how long it had been off so I never lied, just didn't volunteer any extra information. Truthfully, he was cool about it as he could have written me a summons.

As I plan on getting Vanity plate for my RX-8 and it fits in non-functional grill area I'm not as worried about it on the -8.

Best,
Jim.

I had an S2000 for 3 years, and I NEVER put the plate on, except to pass inspection. I hate the front plate, and if I wind up getting an RX-8, the plate will not go on.

I also have a new Civic Si (tried to go the cheap route, it's not working due to insurance) and I don't have the plate on that car either.

In the S, I was pulled over only once for the plate. My buddy's family PBA card got me out of that one. And I was pulled over other times in the S2000 and no cop ever made a mention of it.

Mount the plate to the holder, bash it up with a hammer a bit, toss it in the trunk, order another bracket and keep the receipt in the glove box. Cop pulls you over pull out the receipt and bracket and tell him the bracket is on backorder. This may work for 6 months. Don't make the damage look self-inflicted. Scrape some paint or scratch it up like a trailer receiver nailed it.

I HATE this look. Not to offend eclps0, but I think this is ghetto. To me, just leave it off, if you're getting pulled over all the time, then put it back on, but I'll be real surprised if that's the case.
