It won't, and it can't right now.
You would need a large single turbo/supercharger/or bi-turbo to get the Renesis peforming where it needs to be.
And Mscreant is right on with his break down.
But, still the 8 is awsomely ballanced and has an awsome transmision.
No question about that.

The turbo that is coming out from Speed Force Raceing looks like it will add about 100whp to the 8. I don't see why mazda can't do this to the 8. I guess we will see in the upcoming years what they do and if they even introduce a MS 8 into the US. I don't know what the performance numbers are on the MS8 in japan but from a road and track article it compares with the Nismo 350Z quite well.

The thing with the Mazdaspeed 6 is that it will be a limited edition- mostly likely only 4k of them made per year, like the special edition miata and the Mazdaspeed Protege. It won't be a competitor with the 8 at all.

The current Renesis will not be good for turbo-charging. They have to lower the compression so they can run higher boost levels and then it will be a solid application.

Are you thinking about getting it? I went there and checked it out a few months ago, looks prestine, although 17k is alot for a used car. I wonder if that thing will even start up now since it's been sitting there for so long, battery might be dead.

There's a lot of weird stuff that had been done to it- wanted some special fuel only. I'm guessing very high maintenance. Beautiful car though.
