"Boxer" is cool. Also it is probably not taken on an RX-8 forum.

Might have to give up my 8 if I get laid off. I could use the money Not to mention if I have any type of commute the horrid gas mileage would kill me.

Did the M flash change the gas mileage at all for ya Tick? Mine didn't do squat for gas mileage, still getting ~16mpg but almost broke 20mpg last week with long distance drives to NOVA. Yeah I just talked to a colleague today who has a modded 2000 Corvette, and he gets 30mpg with a V8, that's just crazy. Twice the amount of power but consumes half the amount of gas. Sigh.

Depends on how he drives it. I am sure I can hit 30mpg if I drive like a grandma but the way you drive you can't get 30mpg on a corvette.

Some of the local Richmond folks come to the Friday meet once in a while this week the meet is moved to Pence Subaru hosted by Subaru.

Pence Subaru will invite enthusiasts to a meet at their dealership in Midlothian on Friday, July 2nd, from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.

- Pence will have soft drinks and snacks as well as a drawing for gift certificates.

The Richmond Friday night crew is welcome. Even if you don't drive a Subaru come out and check out some cool cars.

AutoRent on Midlothian has a black RX-8. I used to rent their Miatas once or twice a year back in the early 90s before I got my own.

Rever, if you ever get the 9K urge you can get one for a day.

I saw that on the road the other day in the west end, and was completely confused by the "AutoRent" sticker on the back.

Well, I have to say..I do miss the stares when I get when I drive the 8. But I don't miss the gas milage and lack of torque.

The Legacy is about 2wice as fast as the RX8....

But, I do miss my rotary whine...the turbo whines..but its not the same.. The Legacy is easir to shift..but the RX8 gear box is awsome..

The Legacy has a realy soft suspension..and weak tires.. The RX8's supsension and tires are top notch..

The Legacy feels like a frieght train with all the torque..but its not as fun as the RX8 to drive...

I think to me they are about at a dead heat...cuz, they both have their trade offs..

I will go back one day!

Dunno..but you should feel proud you have yellow. Its a rare color now.

They are not going to make anymore yellows.

Its good stuff.

But, you are the only one I know with a yellow.

there's at least one other yellow in Richmond (unless you're "Our RX-8"). I feel your pain. Saw my first green Richmond 8 yesterday morning since the day I bought the car.

Does anyone remember an RX-8 event, I think it was just outside of Northern VA, scheduled for the last weekend in August of 2004? I thought it was a "stickey" under the NE RX-8 Forum. It seems to have dissappeared.

Has the event really gone away?

I think I killed it with my last post

And with 9kRever with his new Subie, there's no one to keep it alive in here!

msrecant, the event got canceled because the track wasn't going to be complete. I'm hoping that they might find another venue for us to congregate, but it's so late and we haven't heard anything in so long that I think we may be out of luck. Which is too bad, because that was going to be my car event vacation this year.

Bummer! I was looking forward to it, it sounded great.

Thanks for the info. Let me know if you hear about any other events in VA/NC/MD.
