If I remember correctly, it was some sickass turbo'ed "variable displacement" (or something like that) S2K... looked meeeean. Other than that... RxEight7's 350whp RX-7, a 1st gen yellow RX-7 and a blue(?) WRX/STI showed up at RxEight7's place too but the guy took off right after and didn't stay with us. We also had a Mazda3 and a Mazdaspeed6 with us if I remember correctly.

Damn... I just realized I never sent the speed6 owner the raw footage he asked for...

it was a blue STI. i remember being behind it in the rain and trying to keep up with it from the stop signs and stop lights. it was a futile effort.

I work with the guy that drove the Mazdaspeed 6. I think he is selling his car. My company sent him to China for the next several months so he is looking at unloading the Speed 6 then buying somehing new when he gets back.

Mendossa - you have me pegged correctly at Corinth on your map. If we do decide to pass close to my place again there is a road you MUST take that we cut out last year in fear of being late to Placid. I didn't stick around for the Lincoln's gap part of the run last year, but this road I am talking about beats anything else we ran... It's short, but OH-SO - SWEET!

This year we need more video, more pictures, and more sunshine!!

If the possey runs my way again I might be convinced to do lunch again - no pressure, just an option.

Any concrete plans yet? My wife is wondering if this is going to happen,as she wants to go again, but she has to plan a bridal shower, and bachelorette party as well around this same time,so knowing when would help a great deal.

A trip by RX Eight 7s place would be sweet. What a nice place he has. Did you buy a new RX-8? I thought you had an 04 last year that your father was driving. I would suggest we plan on chipping some money towards him this year if we didn't last year(I know I didn't,sorry) because he laid out quite a spread of grub that day. I am not staying at the Swiss Acres this year. It wasn't horrible, but I didn't like being away from the group, and we almost missed the departure that sunday morning, and I did miss the prize give away.

Memorial Day is Monday May 26th this year, so the previous weekend (24th & 25th) is probably a bad idea since people will have holiday plans. Last year we did the week before memorial day (19th & 20th) which hit graduation time and resulted in lots of booked hotels in the Burlington area.

Which means Sat. May 31st and Sunday June 1st may be best this year.

Thoughts?

May 31 - June 1 sounds good. Everyone that plans to go should try to offer a vote as soon as they can. We have plenty of time, but the earlier we set the date the earlier folks will be able to decide if they can make it.

Mazdax605 - you have a good memory (better than mine for sure) - I did get a new RX-8 last August. I got a great deal on the 07 and my 04 was coming off warranty (which meant the end of my free routine maintenance - pre-order car) so I decided to extend the payments a couple of years and slip into a new one.

Don't worry about lunch - I've got it covered if the caravan comes my way.

What a great group of people and a great time !!!! I'm just happy it looks like it will happen again this year.

The 31/1st weekend sounds good to me, plus its a date that's easy to remember.

I'll try to find time to grad a domain an put up a small website for the run this year, instead of juggling an excel file with the list of people. That way folks will be able to edit their registration info themselves and we can put all information (like maps) in one location.

I owe a bunch of you guys big time for all the fun I had last year, so I figure the least I can do is help out as I can. I'm really thrilled there's a 2008 edition

that weekend sounds good to me too.. I'm in the process of transferring up to Syracuse for work, so I should be in town around then... this is awesome, me and a friend started a Charlotte rx8 club (www.cltrx8club.com) and its actually grown to about 30 people now... have been doing some drive-days here and there but nothing this extensive... I'm pumped that I get to tour the Adirondacks in my 8!!!

Sounds like everybody had a blast last year, and I'm looking forward to meeting a great group of people!

Hi everybody... this is my first message.

I might be down for a run in the spring. The snow right now is really annoying.

I have tried Ice, it was worse. Im lucky I work right down the street.

I have had my car for a year, and maybe have seen only 3-4 other 8's driving around.

Hey guys,

I just realized this, and I am not sure it affects the dates. There is a HUGE,I mean HUGE motorcycle rally in the Lake Geroge area that starts on the 2nd of June, and goes through 7th. This may be an issue if the people arrive early on the weekend of the 31st-1st. RX eight 7s knows about this rally I am sure. Even if this doesn't affect hotels for us it may affect the roadways being semi clogged with bikes, and cops out looking to bust them. Anyway I am up for those dates, but we need to do some more research on hotels, and such for this weekend we have sorta chosen. Just some thoughts.

I found this link on a ride in Lake George. It might be the same one. By the looks of it, it's a huge one. They say 50,000 - 60,000 bikes! I'm not sure how far North they go but I'm sure it will hit Lake Placid some how.

The event that I was speaking of,and forgot to give a name,is called Americade, and it is huge.My friend who owns a BMW bike(as did I a while ago) usually goes every year, but won't be this year.

I mentioned this Spring Run to him(he is an RX-7 owner as well) this past weekend, and he mentioned Americade was early this year, and it may be starting that same weekend.

FIFTY THOUSAND?? And I thought DGRR was a big event ... Immagine if we ever had a rotary meet this big? Every gas station in a 100 mile radius would dry up...
