Exclamation ONE NIGHT ONLY!

Brown's Mazda in Alexandria is giving me one of their MAZDASPEED Miata's to bring to tonight's meeting! I will have the car at the parking lot by 6:30pm, maybe as early as 6. Turbo charged 178 hp 1.8-liter DOHC inline 4.

It's going to be great weather so bring out your cars and show them off! :D I have also arranged for extra daylight.

Also, the drawing will be held tonight for the Racing Beat muffler systems from PBC, one for piston engines and one for rotary engines. Details about the giveaway are on the website near the bottom of the front page.

Sign up for the tech session April 21st at tonight's meeting, too.

Are you allowing test drives tonight while you have the car - if so, sign me up please! See you there.

Congratulations to our very own RX-8 Forum member, rx8cited, who won a Racing Beat Exhaust in the drawing for rotary owners. In the piston category, it was a Mazda 6 owner. This drawing was open to all members that signed up or renewed December through March. As circumstance would have it, both winners were present and refused all offers to sell/auction their prize.

Interesting that before the meeting, rx8cited was saying how he would not add any performance mods to his car. Now he wants to install it himself at the tech session! Go figure.

The turnout was fantastic last night! Over 60 MAZDAS in attendance and about 80 people. At least TEN RX-8's! The weather was so nice we held the meeting outside with the cars. If you weren't there, you missed seeing a rare very nice first generation RX-7 convertible.

TreknMazda,
It was a great meeting ....... nice chatting with you and the other friendly Mazda owners last night.

Thanks to you and the other MSCW club officers who coordinated this drawing for Racing Beat Exhaust Systems - and for the wonderful weather you arranged for the meeting . And mostly, thanks for picking my name out of the box .

My comment on not wanting to get bitten by the "peformance mods bug" was because of big $$$$ that it cost. Let me clarify that comment - I'll be more than happy to install all the peformance mods I win at the MSCW meetings :D.

I came to a few meetings last year, joined at the last tech session, came to the meeting last night, won one of the exhaust systems, need to go to a tech session to install it! Oh oh, I'm hooked!

rx8cited

PS: And many thanks to the Pete at Performance Buyer's Club for donating 50% of the Exhaust Systems' cost to MSCW.

Subject: [RnR] MSCW Monthly Club Meeting 4/7/04 Fantastic Turnout

A great day for a club meeting. The weather was good. There were by my count 63 Mazdas in the lot ranging from

Miatas, M-1s & M-2s, Mazda 6s, Proteges and PR-5s, 1st gen RX-7s, including a custom 1st gen convertible conversion which looked pretty good, 2nd gen RX-7s, including two convertibles with roll bars, 3rd gen RX-7s, and RX-8s.

Plus Carl Cordes drove over, courtsey of Browns Mazda, the MAZDASPEED Miata in a definitive red color. {Velocity Red}

For anyone that took photos, please pick the best 3-4 (that include groups of cars and club members, sorry, i'm not interested in shots of engine compartments) and email them to me for the next newsletter.

It was a very good club meeting held, outdoors, very well attended with almost all models represented, plus some prizes for the lucky ones.

MSCW would like to thank the Mazda 6, Protege, PR-5, and RX-8 contingents for showing up in strong numbers.

Let's do it again.

best regards.

I counted twelve 8's. I need to stay more up-to-date on these events - I didn't even know about the RB exhaust giveaway. I wish I could've gotten in on the drawing because that's the exhaust that I want to get for my car! Yes, this is another shameless attempt to get rx8cited to sell the system to me!

DemonRX-8,

Hey! Nice chatting with you at the MSCW meeting. Sorry, the system's not for sale unless it does not work out for me once I install it - in which case I'll keep you in mind :D.
