^ That didn't make any humor even if attempted in a sexual provocative way..
Sephy, just suck it up and go. Can't expect to learn without falling. Falling over just assures you learn quicker than going snail pace trying not to fall over. Speed is your friend to help with balance.
Get some knee pads and *** pads. I wear a good pair of *** pads since with how fast I fly and go off in the air I can easily fracture my tail bone. Ask me how I know. With how baggy a lot of snowboard pants are you can't even tell you're wearing any padding underneath anyhow.

It's not worth it. Based on comparison to the mountain sizes up here, and snow for the distance I travel especially considering I have a season pass to use up I won't go anywhere south of NY.
Pcoconos, or so the site says.
Haha thanks for defending me Vlaze, and sucking up or not, I know my body's limits, i've pulled a tendon just doing a tango flick while dancing, couldn't walk normal for 2 weeks.
My knees have shortened muscles on the side, so the bones are constantly grinding, and the muscles are weak because there's not as much as I should have. I'm not trying to be a whiny bitch, but if I go, I guarantee I will be...
Last time I went skiing, everyone hated me, and my knee went out from under me while I was going down a trail, fell and walked the rest of the way down...Of course I was 10 or 11, but still...I'll think about it, maybe I'll grab a tube or something...

Ok let me put it this way. SKiing uses your knees for the turns all over much more torsionally, you do not even get much of a workout on them while snowboarding. In snowboarding your lower legs burn from holding on one edge for a while or putting too much weight down on the rear leg of the board for most of the day. The only time it hurts with the knees is when you fall down on them depending how hard of a fall it is and on what.
I've never ever since day 1 snowboarding ever felt a work out in my knees. Just they've gotten sore from a fall perhaps when in the learning stages.

Oh....you're going to make me pay tomorrow for him defending me? I'm sure I could get someone to defend me....Maybe get rowdy to fend you off
it's not so much a workout in the knees....it's the pressure of me bending them with my weight on them...I'll try, but I'm still contemplating it...I'm the clumsiest person alive, and if I had trouble with skiing, I'm pretty sure snowboarding is going to be...well...a whole day of bumps and bruises with no success...
Come oooon I hit my head on my sink faucet when sneezing....I'm the personification of klutz
Lol, you can be a total clutz and still board
I'm so pissed I have classes on saturday now... wish I could come damn it! Bah hum bug!
I'm skippin class to go to Jack Frost and Big Boulder Feb. 5th-7th if anyone wants to come... I know you want to!!!
Vlaze, I've never boarded in PA before (or anywhere south of NY for that matter) but my friends aren't having the best of conditions up north either... come try out PA with me! lol

Can't, too many plans. I have season's pass for Okemo/Stratton so I plan to get its worth. Plus next week I'm only working half the week since me and my bro are hitting Sunday River in ME for 4 days from Thurs to Sunday
Next year we're bumping it up for Jackson Hole in Wyoming and possibly either Whitefish, Big Sky (both in Montana) or Revelstoke in Canada. The open back country powder terrain that is part of those resorts show on the map kicks ***, looks surreal and epic. I'll be looking into a beacon and possibly an avalanche pack to wear doing that stuff.
Tell ya what sticky, let me know what you plan for uhhhh the weekend of the 12-14th of Feb. It's a blackout date for my season pass so I could possibly consider doing PA, or catskill areas.

Hm... I was thinking that weekend would be good to go somewhere for a night... sun-mon... going to be crowded but whatever... Any ideas? Maybe I'll go up to VT (Mt. Snow) to my aunt and uncle's house...
Jackson hole?!? Damn! Big Sky I heard was absolutely ridiculous... and yes please wear a beacon and an avalanche pack, I can't tell you how many people go missing even just in Colorado... they're shooting off the long range weaponry all the time... and of course natural avalanches... so please be careful!

Mt snow eh....well I could do that I suppose. Haven't had good experience with their hard packed snow but it's always a gamble any where hoping for snowfall. Sunday (15th) is doable
Tomorrow (Friday 2/5) I will be skiing Stratton. Not sure where I'll go on Saturday, maybe just Mt Snow, where my ski house is.
Plans to go to Tremblanc for Prez Day weekend got canned ... so it looks like I will stay up in Mt Snow next week as well. Hit me up if you're going to be in VT.

So... because of the snow last week I got stuck in freakin GEORGIA! WTF! Lol. So no boarding this past weekend.... but a couple friends r planning a trip to either PA or Mt. Snow the 28th (sunday)... looking like we're leaning towards PA though...

Well if you let me know ahead of time fer once I might consider it ^_^. Gotta be concrete plans, nothing wishy washy last minute deal.
Woops, it was pretty wishy washy with the storm and whatnot so I didn't invite anyone else, but I was at Jack Frost and Big boulder this weekend, small mountains but its pretty awesome that a less than 50 dollar lift ticket gets you both mountains - Jack Frost being open until 4pm and Big Boulder I think was open till 9pm.... Conditions were awesome though! I didn't hit a single patch of ice and actually got stuck in POWDER... on the east coast that's craziness, lol.
How was Camelback? My friends cousin was there and had to get airlifted out bc he landed badly and couldnt feel his feet... he had emergency surgery and he's not paralyzed, thank god. This is why I don't do the huge jumps! Careful people!
...other than that the weekend was awesome! lol
