guys i was bored s/less and drove out from fort belvoir area and did not see a sole out there!!went past speed unlimited for a while before i came out and sat in the damons grille parking lot for a few but i quess i was early?no one said what time you all would show up but this was about tweve thirty or so.

 

1230? Dude we said 5pm. Me, coke and some other people were there at a little after 5 and at about 615 we decided to head into the resteraunt and get some eats.

Edit: The people that messaged me and said they were comming I told them 5pm. I think thats where the problem was.

 

Soooo.... when's the next one? =)

 

I dunno, it was rather discouraging having people say they are comming and then didnt show. I think i will let someone else set up the next one.

 

my bad . sometimes i get that early bird thing and need to get on the road!i'm still in on the next meet.i forgot how close that was to the race track out there.it's a nice little drive and not to bad.see ya soon!

 

Sorry Landon. I tried to make it but got tied up in Baltimore (playoff traffic sucked - and I didn't even go to the game). By the time I got out of Baltimore it was too late.

Yea... I ended up staying in D.C. till about 6 or so with my friend then we drank (it was his 21st) so I wasn't in any condition to drive..

I think we should organize a HUGE HUGE HUGE meet... like several months from now that way we can get as many people as possible to show up, plus the weather would be nice. My boyfriend used to go to meets with his Civic *snicker*and they would rent a pavillion at a rec center or something so they wouldn't have to worry about cops and a lot of people could come.

It would be difficult organizing something that big... but it would definitely be awesome.

 

I tried that before. I rented out a pavilion in annapolis and tried to do a BBQ for the MD members but none from the group showed, it was just me and my friends

I'd be tempted to go, but I haven't been ice skating since I was about 7.. but it would still be kinda fun to make an *** out of myself and try!

 

Landon ya know i couldnt make it to the BBQ.. i would have came.. if work didnt get in the way.. There is a Maryland Rotary BBQ on June 2nd..

last year there were more hotrods than rotaries.. it really wasnt to good.. if i still have my 7 by then i'm bringing it.. but if not i'll be in the 3 and parking it way off to the side.. The chick in my avatar is from the BBQ last year.. trust me i have some wild pics.. great time.. and dyno!!! 3 pulls for $75 bucks... with slight tunning if needed.. free shirts, Maguair swag and samples.. hot chicks for posing on the cars.. and ladies.. if you want.. i'll pose on ya car..

There are also trophies for best car, paint, interior, sound and style (i believe), I'm goin to see if he's goin to give out a trophy for most original..

its just an idea for all of us can meet up at..

another of course is rotorfest.. i've been going ever since i've owned my 7.. always a great time.. doing 120+ on jersey turnpike.. with at least 20 other rotaries..

but it would be cool if we have another all mazda meet like how we had last year.. wasnt many people show up.. but it was great.. like 5 mazda speed protege's at least 4 8's and i was the only 7 there.. no first gens or even FD's..

i'll look around for other meets..

not to be a dick, but rx8 meets always suck. i stopped going since the whole fuddrucker's thing in columbia. no one ever shows up. car shows in this area just suck in general. you won't see me around another meet ever, sorry. doesn't mean i won't hang out with you guys, just means if there is a car meet, don't expect me there. good luck in trying to get a successful meet going...

 

I gotta agree with you there dan... I tried 3x so now I think I am just giving up. I dont know what it is with this area but getting md people out to a meet is like pulling teeth! I think I may start checking out some of the meets in va or check out meets from other car clubs.

 

Hey guys... I really wanted to make the trip, but I originally thought it would be a daytime meet, until Landon gave me the info. I basically missed it because I had plans to watch the Ravens playoff game that night. I know not everyone's a Ravens fan, but there may have been a better turnout if there wasn't such a big game on. I'd definitely be up for a meet some other time if anyone is brave enough to organize another one.

 

I'll organize one, but it will have to be someplace somewhat close to me, because if no one shows up, I don't want to be super far away from home.

Dan, you almost seem bitter! Too many no-show meets in your past? Too few mods on the ones that did show? Hey, if people show at all -- stock or not -- that'll be something. Btw, I think the numbers will be closer to 3 or 4 stock 8's.
