Where in Towson are you Rotr8? I drive through Towson everyday on my way home from school (GBMC). I go up Towsontown Blvd to York Road and through the traffic circle to Dulaney Valley. I wonder if I've ever passed you?

 

I work in Edgewood and to get back to Towson I usually take Loch Raven unless i need to stop anywhere like the mall or something...

On a side note though, today someone hit me while i was at court with no witnesses. saddness to my bumper. i have neat little lisence plate screw hole dents. screw you, buddy!! didn't even bother to leave a note for me either. Everyones a jerk!

 

^^ ha, try getting your car back from the body shop after hitting a deer. then 2 days later, come out from the movies to see your entire drivers side smashed in because someone couldn't park.

that was a very low point in my RX8 life...

 

i got my car back from the bodyshop for parking lot dents. 3 weeks later someone smashes my brand new rear bumper. hits the exhaust too. :/

 

help!..aight so i was bored at home...so i thought to myself might as well try putting on the midpipe i had laying around...so i was un screwing some stuff and my cat has a gap btween the manifold and the converter...UNFORTUANLEY for my *** i had an unhealed injury from basketball...so now im fuckd?..my shoulder popped out of place again while i was taking stuff off...how bad is it gonna be if i drive with that little gap there...cuz i know thats my exhaust leak..anyway...who out there can help me out?...and jamie i went 2 the tint shop the tinter wasnt there today im gonna stop by 2moro

i drove around for a few days with my cat not connected to my catback. it was loud but i was fine.

 

my god hearing about some of the damage stories is horrifying. Do people hate our car and purposefully target it or something?

 

well i got some help and i removed the whole system...my problem now is having bolts to connect the strait pipe onto my mazdaspeed exhaust...the one with the springs...should i just go out and buy some new bolts?...cuz these are prety rusted on....also i noticed...Mazda must of unbolted my cat...cuz when i was taking it off it was new bolts..and they were all mis matching bolts..

 

I'm curious, did you have a lift to put the car up on, or just put it on jacks to get the cat out. I was going to drop my cat to check for thermal damage the other day, I put it up on jacks, but it's really hard to get leverage and the bolts are on extremely tight. I ended up just looking for external damage rather than dropping it, but I'm pretty sure I have a blockage and would really like to remove it to check. If I do have a blockage I'm planning to order a RP supercat and replace the stock one.

 

Don't forget: Unless you have very high miles, your catalytic converter is covered under warranty. Even if you want to put a Supercat on, go get the new, $1200 factory cat for free from the dealer first. Then tuck it away in a safe place when you get the RP.

I changed my cat and I can definitely tell you that you'll need a breaker bar at least for the bolts on the joint between the end of the cat and the exhaust.

btw, I di it in my driveway so kudos for me hahhhahahahhh J/K

And I admire the Freudian slip on Harbor Freight. Sometimes you get a tool that damn well SHOULD have failed tech inspection, and it waits until YOU stress it.
