Anyone go to the car show at the convention center?

 

Baltimore - No, I was in hagerstown MD but I wanted to go
Washington DC - Yes I was there all day

 

Hey any MD people free sometime this week to do something? maybe go out and get a bite or just shoot the breeze and cruise or something?

I went to the motor trend show at the baltimore convention center, wasn't all that great. Only thing I was interested in seeing was the BMW M6. There were some exotics, but they were all exotics I've seen/been in (murcielago, gallardo, f430, 360 modena, and a few maseratis).

Though, the RX-8 they had was the stormy blue mica and it's an amazingly beautiful color.

 

Hahaha... my boyfriend yelled at me because I stood around looking at it for about 15 minutes. "You have one at home in the driveway!" I couldn't help myself... =)

I thought, in the upper level, or as we called it "Tokyo drift" .. the alien car was AMAZING!! I think it was just a honda civic ... couldn't really tell with all the damn blinking lights... but that car was so cool... I'm a HUGE alien movie fan =)

 

Oh, and I was also a bit dissapointed that there was only one Lotus (or so I saw). That's my next purchase =)

 

Yeah that was a civic, I remember that car from the OC show and the Baltimore Car and Truck show. He won best overall car at OC I believe. That car was pretty sick. Did he still have the waterfall thing comin outta the alien's mouth in the trunk? That thing was effin awesome

 

I didn't see a waterfall if there was... that would've been pretty sweet though

It's 7:10, think there is a chance they will close schools before I have to leave at 9? The hell I'm driving on an inch of ice... stupid fkers

That's most likely my next purchase as well! I'd suggest getting something more comfortable as a daily driver, though, the Lotus doesn't make for a comfortable drive.

By the way, what part of MD do you live?

 

I don't think there is any possible way a Lotus could be used as a daily driver. Not unless you live in a constantly warm climate... and you're 60 and only drive a few miles a week!!! Have you seen the inside of one? Bare minimum! There's practically nothing in it... strictly a race car... I love! But right now I'm still infatuated with my rx-8 (only had it 2 1/2 months so far) so I'm still in the mindset that I'm never getting rid of it! =) My goal is Rx-8, 4Runner, then Lotus.

Yea, I've seen the interior, my ex lives near a lotus/chevy dealership, I looked around the lotuses while he was picking out his truck :]

I live in tiny little Jarrettsville.. it's about 25 minutes from Abingdon. I don't think I've ever seen your 8... I've only ever seen one other white one and it was a guy driving it.

I plan to sell my 8 in a year or 2 and buy an Elise. I don't have a second car, so I'll have to buy some beater for the winter. I only work 3 miles from home and can take the metro if I need to. I also don't have covered parking, but I don't care. I actually read the elise forum for the than the rx8 forum.
