My car is fucked up. I wanted to lay in the road and cry. I'm okay - got some serious back and neck pain.

Bumper and trunk destroyed - exhaust and muffler damaged - right tail light busted.

I slid under the SUV in front of me - their car is fine, my hood and front bumper are scratched.

"Possible frame damage" they said while they sawed off my bumper.

I tried to drive it and it's wobbling all over the place... plus somehow for some reason the transmission must be affected? It won't shift right.

Pictures to come. Pity welcomed.

Damn, no one can ever seem to pay attention can they? Hope your ok and the car can be repaired. Keep us updated.

you're NOT ok, get that checked out ASAP, do not let the people that hit you get away with it few months down the road, get this injury reported.

hope it's nothing serious, but if you're actually sore/hurting you need to have it checked right away

In most places. I assume this was in MD, being in the MD thread?

Seconded, get the injury reported.

Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Other people's stupidity cost you a beautiful car. I had the same sort of thing happen when a careless driver backed a work truck over my restored 1973 Corvette while it was parked in front of my house years ago. To follow up what everyone has said, definitely go immediately, do not wait to the doctor, tell him about the soreness and pain. Get a record of that as soon as possible. Then report it and tell them which doctor you saw and when.

The good news and bad news about the damage to the car is it will probably total the car. The good part of that is you can definitely get a new car to replace it. The car can be replaced, you are fortunate that you were in an accident and are safe. Best of luck to you.

Wow just got back from SD last night, went to my buddies house til 2am hadnt slept since thurs(partyin it up with the West Coast 8 crew) and just woke up to this story,,,,,

WOW.... that suks big time Lauren but Dave may have something,,, even though its always the fault of the person who rear ends the other person, hope they dont ty to sue you becuase of your tint (I didnt know it was that dark, thought it would be less) but ZoomZoomH is right ,,, your not ok....
Go to the doctors...
Most people dont even feel whiplash til months later so if your already in a little bit of pain tehn your in trouble...

If the car that caused the accident was two cars back, then it definitely isn't her tint's fault. It would mean that the guy was looking at her car rather than the car directly in front of him.... If he wants to try and go that route he will get his case thrown out right away since it will be an implicit admission that he wasn't paying attention to the car in front of him, and thereby an admission of fault.

This kind of crap just pisses me off. The people in this area are just the worst ******* drivers I've ever seen in my life (I've driven in a lot of places). I'm sorry if that sounds uppity or anything. I don't want to offend anyone, but my god some of the bullshit I've seen on the road here makes my blood boil. Every now and then I get worried because some idiot who doesn't care as much about his car as I do about mine might total my baby. That's just what happened to Lauren.

The other day I pulled up to a 4-way stop, and a lady in a mini van was to my left. I watched as she held her phone in one hand and then looked up to her visor mirror and started putting on makeup with the other, while she started moving through the intersection and accelerating with no hand on the wheel. She completely cleared the intersection without ever putting a single hand on the wheel. My god. Some people should be forced to drive a stick; would really do them some good.

Sorry for the rant. Really sorry for your car. I agree with you; I'd want it totaled as well. I hope you get what you want.

God that is too hard to look at. But it is probably a good idea you took pics, to document everything.
The frame damage is looking pretty extensive. What speed was the guy going before he rear ended the guy behind you? His car must be crunched up like a can.

He was probably going about 45-50 and I don't think he made any attempt to stop whatsoever. His car looked like it was put into a car-size can crusher... it was a mangled hunk of metal, his engine was practically in his dash board. The car behind me was a volvo and you know those things are tanks... it was still probably totalled also.
