welcome, and grats on the car. Here's hoping you have a great time driving it. Don't flood the engine!

one day, on a day just like today, you'll be like hey, lemme move the car into the garage and put on my snow wheels, and a very important detail will slip your mind! AND THEN! THE CAR WILL NOT START! <cue scary music>

thats the stupid mistake i made last month heheheh

anyone in long island get the axial flow short throw shifter installed? it seems like a worthy investment.. but it is pretty pricey.

To be honest, I never had any problems with flooding, even when just moving the car, even when cold. This may vary a lot between different cars.....so.....don't stress too much about it unless you find it to be a problem once or twice.

Mine had flooded twice years ago, and once recently, Dechoking procedure never worked for me any of the times. First 2 times I had it towed to Mazda and let them deal with it. This time I just said to hell with it, and had my dad slowly and carefully tug my car with his for a pull start. Worked like a charm. However, I had tried starting it so long that I thrashed my battery, so it's pretty undercharged right now, which made me throw some lower numbers during a compression test.

If you have to deal with a flood, and the dechoking procedure doesn't work after a few tries, save your battery and get a few ppl and push start it, I'd say thats the easiest way to deal with it.

I'm down with that, but the last one was cold as hell. Maybe when it gets nice out is when we'll come out to play.
