ok cool. That's like a 25min drive for me. Do a lot of 8s goto the meet every wednesday? Weather is looking good for the whole week.

 

I'm looking for recommendations on a place to get body work done... seems over the weekend I must have hit a hole and messed up my front trim. It's scratched and loose on the brackets now. I think I know where it happened, just getting onto the outerbanks bridge SB... a mustang got in front of me and just then bottomed out. I think his oil pan or something came flying back at me. I dodged it, but either something else caught my front or I hit the same thing he did and didn't realize it in trying to avoid the flying debris. At any rate, I'm thinking new body kit, and have no clue where to start for a reputable, good quality shop. Nassau area, willing to travel a little for a good shop.

 

Hey everyone,

So every spring I get VERY excited by the nice weather, you see the nice cars come out, the car meets start up, and it's a damn good time. You guys know how enthusiastic I am about the group and the cars and all that... I love seeing the new guys learn about the 8 and fall in love with it the way I did.

So this is difficult for me to say but this spring is going to be very different for me, I need to back myself out of the RX8 community for a while. Some of you know I'm in med school and I can promise you its really highly-consuming and I just can't dick around this time. My life is just very crazy and unpleasant right now and I need to focus things. I take my first board exam at the end of June, and until then I really cant distract myself at all with meets, wrenching on the car, or probably not even reading the forums. I actually used to read literally almost every thread on rx8club, no joke, though I might still occasionally read this long island thread just to see how you guys are doing. Last year I even watched every Speedsource race religiously, and I just don't see that happening this season...

I hope everyone has a great spring and summer- enjoy it, go on some road trips and midnight drives for me, I'm going to be hunkered in the library for 14 hours a day for the next few months, so be happy and enjoy doing fun car things for me. I was driving the BQE overlooking manhattan last night and really there's nothing better than a cruise out late on a summer's night....

Jarred - since you're local and I do have that exhaust, we should still meet up and try to work something out with that. I won't have time to do/help any switches, but I would like to sell it to you if you're interested, you'll get a really good price because frankly I don't have time to try and sell it anywhere else. Gimme a PM or call after the 15th, I'm going to be busy and then out of town for a few days until then.
